Obituary of Marion Kameka

KAMEKA, MARION MAY - Suddenly at home on August 25, 2017, Marion Kameka died at the age of 79.  Beloved wife of Kenneth Kameka.  Loving mother of Kenneth II & his wife Lisa and Todd Kameka. Cherished grandmother of Trevor (Samantha), Nicholas and Meaghan Kameka. Great grandmother of Justin, Daytona, Tanya, Ryder, Rosalea and Alphonso.  Dear sister of Norma Jean Coling, B.C. Sister-in-law of Emmett Kameka, Fred Kameka, Carina Thornhill and Marcia (Fleming) Phillipsen.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Harry & Dorothy Coling and sister Marilyn Duke.  Marion worked as the secretary/bookkeeper at St. Benedict’s Church for over 40 years. She was a 40 year member and past president of the Catholic Woman’s League at St. Benedict’s  and was a Vincenzan with the St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years. Marion loved to travel & camp and was a member of the National Campers and Hiker’s Association since 1969.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren filled her heart and gave her so much pleasure. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, August 28, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Savel at St. Benedict’s Church on Tuesday, August 29th at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with interment at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 106 East St., Sarnia, N7T 7H9.
