Nancy Berry

Obituary of Nancy Jean Berry

BERRY, NANCY JEAN (nee Wilson) - Surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Nancy Berry died peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice at the age of 69. Beloved wife of Michael "Mike" Berry. Loving mother of Jennifer Wilson & her husband Jeremy, Milton and Melissa Berry, Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of Reese & Lauren Wilson. Dear daughter of Martha & the late Robert Wilson. Sister of Rosemarie Forbes & her husband Jock, Sudbury and Paul Wilson & his wife Karen, Ottawa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Nancy brought joy to so many - continuously giving of her time and love. She was dedicated to her family, a tireless supporter of her community groups (RayJon, Breast Buddies dragon boat team, CSJ associates, CWL) and "Nurse Nancy" 'til the end. She was not often seen without a smile on her face, even during her long and courageous battle with cancer. The world, especially our family room, will be a quieter and less boisterous place without her. The constant love, many prayers, and amazing generosity of all her friends brought strength and peace of mind to Nancy and all the family for so many years. We cannot thank them enough for their thoughtfulness. A thank you also for the wonderful medical care received from Dr. Crombeen, Dr. Yoshida, and the nurses of the palliative care unit and the St. Joseph's Hospice. To celebrate her life, Nancy asked that friends wear bright colours to her visitation and funeral service and that they share many laughs. Visitation will be at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6:30-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Vince Gulikers at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, June 24th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations may be given to the St Joseph's Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3, Rayjon P.O.
