Nesly Dorismond, a defining light in midst of suffering and inequality. Nesly, a young man of 28 years, passed peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia, on April 22nd at 8:30 AM, to be with his Holy Father. Nesly came to Canada to have a life-saving heart operation not available in Haiti, but success was eluded by a secondary organ failure. Separated from his biological Haitian family and unable to travel home, Nesly was embraced in a most amazing and beautiful way by a community of people in Sarnia who extended their love and care. Nesly was loved deeply by all who were fortunate to pass time with him. Through his physical brokenness his extraordinary beauty and grace shone, a testament to his true character. Nesly is predeceased by his mother Ghislaine, whom he adored, and remembered by his loving father Francius, his sisters Michelene, Venante, Francine and brothers Emmanuel, Daniel, and Dieufanne. He will be remembered always by his bon zanmi Jennifer of Canada. Thank you to the extraordinary staff of St. Joseph's Hospice who facilitated a grace-filled last walk for Nesly. Recognition to Bluewater Health and London Health Sciences Centre for their extraordinary care, to the Law Office of Ed Corrigan, London, Community Legal Assistance and the office of Marilyn Gladu, Sarnia, all lending their skills to immigration matters and to Mckenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Resurrection Cemetery who cared for Nesly's remains. Service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Sarnia, on May 6th at 11:00 a.m. Donations will be accepted by the church toward Nesly's legacy fund the day of the service or mailed to Paroisse Saint-Thomas d'Aquin, 895 Chemin Champlain, Sarnia (ON), N7V2E9, to be forwarded to his family in Haiti.
