SHAW, GORDON THOMAS - Peacefully with his family by his side, Gordon Thomas Shaw died at Bluewater Health on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Anne Catherine Shaw (Kuchar). Loving father of Wayne Shaw & his wife Kathi, Calgary and Dr. Ian Shaw & his wife Kelly, Port Huron. Cherished grandfather of Trayce, Dylan, Tyler, Kathryn, Leah and Jared. Dear brother of Douglas Shaw (late Viola) Nova Scotia and Norma Samson, Cape Breton. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend Earl MacMillan who spent many years working and sailing with Gord. Predeceased by his parents Harry & Johanna Shaw. Gordon was born in 1931 at Lochside, Arichat, Richmond County, Cape Breton. He was an avid yachtsman sailing 2 seasons on the SS Martian (CSL) and a member of the Sarnia Yacht Club and Royal Canadian Legion. Gordon was a process supervisor with Imperial Oil, retiring after 39 years of service and was a member of the Esso North Annuitants Club. Gordon and Anne were long time parishioners of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Earl & Gail MacMillan, Don & Brenda Kerby, Shine At Home, Lu, Isabel and Ally for their loving care of Gord and support of the family. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Bohdan Winnicki at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1045 Rosedale Ave., Sarnia. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
