Obituary of Lillian Rosemarie Mattas

MATTAS (REEDY), Lillian Rosemarie (Nan) - Passed peacefully away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia. Nan was surrounded by her family whom she loved so dearly. She was born in Port Lambton on September 11, 1928. Daughter of the late Edward and Florence Reedy. Mother of Peter (Janet) Dobbie, Susan Webb (Larry), Ted (Cindy) Dobbie and Dan Dobbie. Grandmother of Patricia (Tate) Ross, Ryan (Kristi) Dobbie, Carla (Rick MacGregor), Lisa (Corey) LaPointe, special grandson Craig Schmidt, Lindsey (William) Knight, Stacey, Sheila, Corey and Kyle Dobbie. Great-grandmother of Madison, Lucas, Noah, Brooklyn, Jaxon, Jayce, Katie, Sera, Ashlyn, Dillon, Trey and Ke'Ana. Great-great-grandmother of Gavin. Sister of Kathleen Foubert, Theresa Brown and sister-in-law of Margaret Reedy. Predeceased by brothers Harry Reedy and William Reedy and brothers-in-law Reg Foubert and Stew Brown. Rosemarie spent her early years in Wallaceburg working for Bell Telephone. She then moved to Sarnia in 1951 where she devoted her time raising her family. Rosemarie has been in poor health the last few years. Special thanks to her granddaughters Carla and Lisa and her great-granddaughters Sera and Katie who were at her beck and call and also for being so kind to their Nan/Grandy. She loved them so dearly. Thanks to Care Partners, V.O.N., Dr. Crombeen and nurses at St. Joseph's Hospice, Richard Kelch and staff at Northgate Pharmacy. They all treated her with special care for so long. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 10:30 a.m.-11:50 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following the visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Church at 12:10 p.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3. Messages and condolences may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
