ROBERTSON, Catherine Margaret – Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Trillium Villa on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Bruce. Sister of Mary (late Ian) Riach. Dear mother of Dan (Julie), David (late Cathy), Douglas (late Dale), Diane (Ken) Ducharme and Joe (Margie). Loving grandmother of Christopher (Michelle), Jennifer, Jessica (Mike), Jenna (Nick), Andie, Darryl (Sarim), Mark (Becky), Trevor and Matthew. Great-grandmother of Lea, Edward, Angus, Grace, Isla and Emily. Catherine’s family would especially like to thank the staff of Trillium Villa for the loving care shown to her during the last five years. Along with attentive nursing and bedside care, Catherine spent many hours enjoying activities and hobbies that she had enjoyed all her life. The gardens, the art classes that utilized her many years of experience as a portrait and photographic painter, and her love of church services. Catherine was one of the first graduates of St. Patrick’s High School, Sarnia, and raised her family as an active member of St. Peter’s Church serving in the C.W.L. (Catholic Women’s League) and as a longtime member of the choir. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8:30 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Alzheimer’s Society, 420 N. East St., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5 (cheques only at the funeral home please).
