SALAK, Noreen (Donovan) - After a brief illness, Noreen passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Edward Salak (1996). Dear mother of Michael, London, Tim (Nancy), Calgary and Colleen (Marcus) Spain, Markham. Loving grammie of Hanna, Matthew and Sarah. Sister of Mary (Gib) Watling, Miramichi, NB, Jeanne (Earl) Kemp, Spruce Grove, AB., Pat (Lucille) Donovan, Moncton, NB., Bernie (Shirley) Donovan, Miramichi, NB. and Frank (Alice) Donovan, Ingersoll. Predeceased by her parents Herman & Frances Donovan and brothers Jim and Bill Donovan. Noreen was retired from the L.C.R.C.S.S.B. having taught at various elementary schools in Sarnia. She was a longtime member and past president of the Sacred Heart Church Catholic Women's League. Noreen was an avid golfer and a member of Greenwood Golf Club. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3 (cheques only at the funeral home please).
