PAQUETTE, Mary (nee Kohut) - After a short battle with cancer, Mary Paquette died quietly in her sleep on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the age of 87. Mary was the beloved wife of Leonard (Leo) J. Paquette. Loving mother of Michael (Lorna) Ramsey, Dresden and Sonia Ross, Edmonton. Loving grandmother of Megan, James, Ronny & Bobbie. Mary adopted Leo's children Leonard (Pam) Paquette Jr., Corunna and Darlene (Bob) Johnson, Sarnia as her family. She was Grandma Mary to Jenn Johnson (Jim Bruner) and their children Tyler, Jordynn, Kyle, Amber, Ashley and Hunter; Kevin Johnson (Cat Cabajar) and their children Olivia and Maxx; Stacey Johnson (Chris Carpeneto); Kaitlin (Joel) Drapeau; Taylor Paquette; Steven (Trish) Paquette and Leonard Paquette (Mouse). Dear sister of Bo (Marie) Kohut and Yaris (Joy) Kohut, who were always by her side, taking care of all of her needs, especially throughout her illness. Predeceased by her parents Jacob & Tekalie Kohut, brothers Fred and Mike Kohut and sisters Rose Lewis, Pauline Ryan and Margaret Barber. Mary will be missed by her nieces and nephews, her friends at Cedar Bay Campground and her friends and wonderful caregivers at Sumac Lodge. She was famous for her homemade perogies, cabbage rolls and homemade soup. Mary and Leo would often make huge batches to share with their family on holidays. Mary was often heard saying "I'm doing the best that I can". It was a saying that was reflective of her life. She gave the best to her husband, her family, friends and home. She will be sadly missed by all. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on from Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 11:45-12:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow immediately after in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 714 Lite St., Point Edward, N7V 1A6.
