MULYK, Dr. Iwan (Dr. John) - At Fiddick’s Nursing Home, Petrolia at the age of 89. Lovingly remembered by residents and staff of Fiddick’s as “Doc”. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Oleniuk). Survived by son Michael Mulyk & his family Alexis, Nicholas & family, Corunna, daughter Christine Mulyk Nicholson and son-in-law Bob, Petrolia. Cherished Didi of Alyssa Mulyk Nicholson and Michael Mulyk Nicholson, Petrolia. Brother of Stefan of Pennsylvania, Mychailo and Dmytro Mulyk of The Ukraine. Brother-in-law of Lillian Oleniuk, Sarnia and Margaret Oleniuk, St. Catharines. Predeceased by parents Anna (Senkowska) & Mychailo Mulyk, brothers Gregory, Roman and Walter and loving members of the Oleniuk family. Dr. Mulyk was born in Stibeniec, Peremyshl, in the Ukraine. He served as both a family physician and surgeon at St. Joseph’s and Sarnia General Hospitals for 50 years, retiring at the age of 83 and was a life long member of St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church. A private family funeral service was held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N. officiated by Fr. Edward Yarema of St. George’s Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
