CATAFORD, Roger Henri – It is with profound sadness we say goodbye to our hero, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend on October 1st 2014.Roger Henri Cataford, born November 8, 1929 to George and Loretto in North Bay Ontario. He spent a joyful and adventurous youth in Schreiber Ontario. Together, with the love of his life Hazel Howard, they raised nine children in Sarnia. Roger is survived by Hazel, his wife of sixty-three years. Dear father of Louise & Dan Barrons, Dean & Grace Cataford, Terry & Nancy Cataford, Mickey & Cathy Cataford, Glenn & Tsige Cataford, Curtis & Kelly Cataford, Virginia & Mike Ruypers, Keith & Lorrie Cataford and Julie & Robert Pecora. Loving grandfather of Joe Barrons (Rebecca) and Liza Hay (Matt), Martin and Andrew Cataford, Melissa, Blake, Max, Justin, Amanda and James Cataford, Loleta and Courtney Cataford, Emily Potter (Greg), Jake (Jill), Olivia (Trevor) and Natalie Cataford, Mimi and Ginger Ruypers, Alex, Colin, Carly (Zach) and Mitchell Cataford and Elliot and Marlowe Pecora. Great-grandfather of Mackenzie, Julia, Brendan, Georgia, Fiona, Noah, Annie and Eli. Brother of Frances Caccamo. Predeceased by brothers Maurice, Roland, Ivan and Allan and by granddaughter Madeleine. Roger was a man of generous spirit, positivity and compassion. He worked 62 years as an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local 530. He tirelessly volunteered with many local charitable organizations. He was a man who lived his faith and was in constant search of enlightenment. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eugene Dziedzic at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Queen of Peace Church.
